The school is famous for its preservation despite different times, going through a name change and the site shift. Our teachers’ special temperament descend from 100 years of opening up of the school. They are fair and soft. The dynamic World School continues to absorb all the culture of innovative ideas to promote the school’s teaching career to flourish. Equality and fraternity of thinking guides our way to express on the cause of the infinite love of teaching!

上海世界小学是徐汇区教育局直辖的一所小型的公办小学，坐落于环境幽雅，人文环境极佳的湖南社区。学校掩映在绿茵葱茏的欧式老洋房群中，这样的人文环境为学校的发展提供了得天独厚的地域资源，也为师生的身心发展提供了极佳的环境熏陶。

七十几年来，在几代教师的辛勤培育下，涌现了一大批在各个领域卓有成绩的优秀学子，他们中有被誉为“世界光纤之父”荣获诺贝尔物理学奖的高锟、著名画家汤沐黎、杨之光、中国工程院院士陈君石、薄膜光学专家严义埙、孙中山先生孙女孙穗芳等均在这里就读。

学校占地面积2558平方米，有11个班级，300余位学生。现有教职工33人，其中中学高级1人，小学高级21人。是一所上海最具师生校园文化研究的价值的小学。

Shanghai World Primary School is a small-size public school, which was directed by Xuhui Education Bureau. It is located in the elegant environment, solid cultural and human environment in Hunan Community. Our school is in the shade of verdant green group of European-style old house, so the human environment to provide a regional resource is for the development of the school, the excellent environment for the influence is also for the development of students’ physical and mental.

In 70 years, under hard cultivation of generations of teachers, a large number of outstanding students have emerged in various fields. Gao Kun, named as” the father of optical fiber”, was awarded the Nobel Prize in physics, many well-known painters, such as Tang Muli, Yang Zhiguang, Chinese academy engineers, such as Chen Junshi, Thin film optical expert, Yan Yixun, Mr. Sun Zhongshan’s granddaughter, Sun Suifang were educated here in their early life.

   Our school covers an area of 2558 square meters. There are 11 classes, more than 300 students. The existing staffs are 33 teachers with 1 in senior secondary and 21 with undergraduate education. It is one of the most valuable primary school with campus culture.

世界小学以课程建设为抓手，通过对校本课程的开发和探索，如依托地域资源开设的老洋房探踪课程，传承校史资源开设的法语文化课课程、感受中国汉子魅力的书法课程和养就道德礼仪的修养的礼仪课堂等，以不断更新的教育理念、时时优化的教学手段和人文和谐的学习环境，引领学生的个性发展，无不彰显着世校的创新意识。

     Our school is committed to the exploration and development of school-based curriculum, such as on the basis of the regional resources to set up the course of old villa, inheritance history resources to set up the French culture course, a course of practicing writing Chinese characters with charm, a course of accepting the norms of etiquette training system. All the up –to-date educational philosophy, optimized teaching method, are a highlight of the new development point with the creative awareness full in our harmonious learning park. All we did is for the personality development of our students.
